June 28- July 1 Mad Scientist takes on 3D Printing Campers will explore many fun chemistry experiments from making snow, edible chemistry, elephant toothpaste, and much more! They will learn a bit about the periodic table and just how scientists use it to predict interactions. Campers will learn a bit of computer-aided design to create their own 3D printer. They will discover how coding, design, and chemistry work together to make 3D-printed objects.

As a worldwide search for cheaper and cleaner energy continues, we are on a mission … a mission to energize young scientists and engineers to think about energy! Join us on an amazing adventure where participants explore various forms of energy, from potential to kinetic and electrical to renewable sources like wind and solar. Participants will design and build paddle boats, water wheels, windmills, and solar ovens as well as be introduced to the power behind the world of robotics engineering. We will build robots using Lego WeDo 2.0 robotics!

Come take on the exciting world of computer programming! Campers will learn and implement the basic foundations of code through animation and game-making. Scratch coding is a program specifically designed for beginning coders utilizing the drag and drop code blocks. Our youngest coders will use Scratch Junior a program designed for the youngest enthusiasts and uses an iPad and drag and drop code.

Biomimetics is how many engineers begin to plan their ideas. Observing nature inspires humans to create similar designs to solve problems. Join us to learn how engineers use the natural world to design robots that mimic or simulate a natural phenomenon from insects to dinosaurs, to robotic hands. Campers will tackle some engineering challenges as they learn a bit more about how mimicking nature provides us with incredible engineering examples.

We will bring together two top interests in collaborating with them to make epic games with robots and Scratch coding. Participants will design a game on SCRATCH that will interact with a WeDo 2.0 Robot. The robot will be an integral part of the game designed as either a controller, a player in the game, or a robot that is interactive.

Make a Splash will explore how water is used as an energy source from hydropower to watermill to dams to hydraulics. Participants will “Play” in and with water to discover its unique qualities and just how engineers use it to produce power. Together will collab orate to design and BUILD own “Water Park”. Campers will collaborate to make some fun water games and activities using balloons, pvc piping, catapults, and more.
