We’re in the midst of a significant transformation in the industry. This transition is so compelling that it is being called Industry 4.0 to represent the fourth revolution in the way we produce products. Today, the fourth industrial revolution is taking computers and automation and enhancing them with smart and autonomous systems fueled by data and machine learning to ultimately make decisions without human involvement.
Various emerging technologies are the pillars for Industry 4.0 like Artificial Intelligence (AI), Internet of Things, Big Data and Cyber Security… to name just a few. And Industry 4.0 is converging the digital, physical and biological worlds.
STEM For Kids, founded and based in North Carolina, has been at the forefront of bringing cutting-edge innovative STEM to children since 2011. Your children have already been exploring some of Industry 4.0 technical pillars through STEM for Kids programs. We are now pleased to announce the newest addition to our industry-leading curriculum portfolio… Artificial Intelligence (AI) for kids.
In a world where technology has taken over several tasks, students discover how to be the one who trains and programs those machines. They learn early on that AI is about teaching a computer to be able to perform tasks that normally a human would do.
Through a series of activities and projects, students are trained on machine learning which is a specific type of AI that recognizes patterns in data and makes predictions based on those patterns. Children will design games and animations and code their own virtual machines to learn various tasks.
Activities include Make Me Happy! with supervised learning for machines, Shoot the Bug Game with decision tree model, Chameleon with image classification, School Journey with predictive model, and many more.
Programs in Artificial Intelligence are being offered as instructor-led online classes now and will be available for in-person learning as state / local conditions allow.
Convenient online programs during after school time and on Saturdays are starting in January. Parents can register their children here. Schools and organizations can request virtual learning or in-person classes for their groups at stemforkids.net/inschools.
